BASIC SPELLING RULE: FORMING PLURALS
If a noun ends with a vowel + f or lf, change the f to a v and add es. If a noun ends with fe, change the f to a v and add s. Just add an s for nouns ending with ff and for some nouns ending with a vowel + f.
Form the plurals of most nouns ending in x or z by adding es. If the noun ends with a consonant + y, change the y to i and then add es.
